Ok hear is my new time keeper.... a 04 400at rancher body. I have a 450 foreman engine, a 500 stroker crank, weisco piston, web cam, ported head, and a gear reduction to put in it. I have a st of 2 axles @26" long to build a big lift with. I also have a gorrilla drive shaft made to fit a rancher front diff. My question to yall is, do i make it independant, solid independant, or leave it solid.
im curious to know how a ujoint or what u-joint holds up to the large angles produced by big swing arm lifts.
first night a trial fit
second night motor mounts built drive shaft in place next step is to raise the frame (unless the newstyle gas tank will clear the engine
lol trust me bigger is better you will not be happy unless you have a 10 inch lift on it

the left side i made that way to clear the exhaust on the ranchers. if i do run disc brake ill make my own off the hubs using old 300 ex parts because im going to build my own bearing carriers i may have to use the highlifter studs though
the gorrilla drive shaft is on i got through some horse trading a while back i dont know if they ever produced them the man i got it from was pretty tight with gorrilla notice it has a 1" bar.
i appreciate the words pondhopper and red hiem joints or bushings on the arms what do yall think and tie rods any ideas?
ill have some tacked together pics up in the morning
yeah i bought a hdy manual bender they are not perfect but its my best so far
i built one out of 5/16 tubung and a tubing bender first then macthed my bends only i marked the first side with a marker dead center of the bends so i could measure the the center of my second side bends
from being oil field trash (lol) ive done a lot of work bending stainless tubing and had enough to build the jig with 1/4 cold roll would work to
You are sure right! I spoke without thinking. With the pinion being that far out of center, how much angle will be on the driveshaft? Will the wheelbase be any longer than stock?
i ran it tonight and all seems well. i got the gorrilla grizz outers in and on. i hope to get my knucles by the end of the week. i chose not to use the honda outer joint because the foreman bearing is too small in my opinion. and i only want to do this once. i like the larger size of the grizzly outers and shape of their knucles. maybie ill have some pics up sunday of the arms
