A full sleeve is alot on your first one. Do an armband and see how you like that. Then you can always put the sleeve on top of it and it won't look bad.

Some of the Tattoo Artist out there go really deep and some don't

I got five tats done by 4 different artist and I'd say my frist and the last coverup was nothing to it but 2 of them would almost put you in tears

Start small then go from there with the same Artist

yea the elbow, ditch and that lil wrist bone they all suck . every one ask me where ithurts te most i aways say anywhere clase to bone sucks bad . my sleeve was my first big tat so i say go for it . are you tring to do it all in one sitting ? i sat for 7 hours it iut a break .

man a sleeve for the first tat man thats hardcore but honestly i would get a few smaller ones or a arm band and see which artist you like more i have two my first i slept through lol and the second i could have swore he was using a dull knife and was going too deep. find a good artist. seriously i can take pain but that almost put me in tears. the elbow and wrist are gonna suck. and the inside of your arm the part that touches your chest is soft and will hurt. get the lightest had you can because if they go too deep they will scar you. you lose your ink that way. but that tat would look awesome minus the little extras. and that symbol. my sister has one on the back of her neck and an asian guy started laughing at her is said fishmarket. she was told it was goddess at the shop.
