I think I have repainted my A-arms about 4-5 times sense i built my bike and i'm wondering if anybody has an secrets on how to make it hold up. Also if there are any other options. I'm not really into the powered coat cause i hear its going to chip too and i doubt i can a paint that will match perfect to touch up little stuff. any help would be greatly appreciated.
i wuld think with the proper prep, a good auto paint, and clearcoat. they wuld hold up good. i just painted my factory a-arms orange on my bike with rattle can and it made it thru the first ride without a scratch, but it did scratch easliy while installing. i did use a clear coat also.
I have to gun to spray bedliners but it I don't think it would look that good.
I'm using a dupli color high temp paint. 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of color, and 2 coats of clear. I can make it about 3 rides and stuff is chipping off.
I have also been a little reluctant to powder coat it cause i'm still changing things around but i believe I've got all of the bugs worked out. I guess i'm going to get it powder coated sometime before mud nationals so it will at least look good for that.
