you need to go look at the miller 140's cause you have alot more fine tuning on the amps, but I do have the lincoln 175 mig and i have never had a problem so i would say if you are between these 2 go with the lincoln.
ok cool right now I have to stay with a 110 cause I have not ran 220 feed yet to the shop

My cousin has the hobart mentioned, and it is a good little rig. I have used it quit a bit, and have no complaints. I myself prefer the lincoln. I have a 180 amp lincoln, and absolutely love it. I don't believe you would go wrong with either of them
I wouldn't get your hopes up welding aluminum without a spool gun. I have tried and tried with my machine but it wouldn't go for long without jamming up. If you do figure out the trick though let me in on it.
Buy you a new liner then put a size larger tip on it. You also have to keep the gun and whip as straight as you can. it helps if the whip and gun is pointing slightly downward. and weld as fast as you can.
I put a teflon liner in mine, size bigger tip, and tried to keep it straight and i couldn't get it to weld for more than 5 minutes without jamming up. I just about threw that machine out of my shop after about the 4th time it did it.
I don't worry about at it anymore i got a tig rig i can pump all day with out letting it cool. I don't have the patience or a good enough street pharmacist to stop every 5 minutes for the wire to cool down.
