u really dont need a vice. just take out the skinny rings by ur ball bearings. then give it a pretty good pull and the cover will pop off. then there is a little clip if from of ur little balls there pop that off and ur little knuckle will slide off. then put it back on the same way pretty simple. just pack some grease in it wen u put it back on
Hey bird If I was you I would send them in and let them rebuild them. They might find something that you might not. The pic of that cup is on the forum somewhere. I'll see if I can find it
Yeah I took the boot off and the race is cracked in half and the circlip is gone and chunks of metal inside the cup! I think I found the popping?
I also found some chunks of metal in the front axles. And the angle on them are not much?!
And I think one bar is too long, at full droop, the front passenger axle doesn't plunge but when u suck those a arms up, it plunges fine, HOW HARD is it to get the bar about a 1/4"-1/2" shorter?
I mean the lil star looking thing which the bar slides into that is splined is broke in half on that beat up cup, but they are going to warranty that axle out bc it was all jagged and what not.
