haha yeah , thats actually what im going to do. I got the little plug to stay in but if it leaks any i will jb weld the hole up and just seal it with the gasket.
Oh and im talking about the leak shield that replaces the pull rope on ranchers.

those hl leak shields leak on the occasion from what i have seen. What i do is take the pull rope out and run a bead of gasket stuff around the cover and then weld the hole up. works like a charm and is just about free.
see i gutted the cover the last time and siliconed everything thing and it leaked still. Im going to look at it today when i get home and see if it leaks. If it does guess ill be back to square one! lol Well see what happends

yeah, i think thats where my water would come in to begin with. We were riding a few weekends ago and i checked my oil the next day and it was nothin but milk! So thats why i got this... will see how it works. Ive heard some good stuff and bad about it.

yeah i just kinda snugged them all up and then put a few more turns on them... the plexi glass wasnt crackin or making any noise. lol so i figured it was tight enough.

I haven't had any trouble since I install my leak shield. I could never start mine with the pull rope any way, to much compression. I've only replaced 1 started since my BBK, 5 yrs.
