tuner axles

Foreman Rider is my little brother and we both ride 06 foreman 500s, mine being a rubi.  He just built his front control arms and got what he wanted.  He is being the first to do this cause I am in Iraq once again but plan on doing mine as soon as I get home.
I know a pretty good bit about axles and have had no problems out of the ones that I rebuilt.  Can anyone tell me what makes his axles worth what he sells them for?

Has anyone played with building their own?  I have a few ideas that I might try my self using a set of joints out of a hummvee.  I feel like I have gone way beyond 35 deg. on them!

I'm sure if you use a set of cups out of a humvee you would be as good or better than what turner is putting out. Personally i don't have those expertise. I was thinking about this today though. I had to go buy a new front axle for my yota and it was only 69 bucks and its much larger than a turner and it made it 140,000 miles. I do know turner does a lot heat treating and stuff like that so i don't know if that is what jacks the price up.
also thank you so much for your service it is truly appreciated and good luck to yall.

And again thanks for your service.
I believe that with turner hand building the cups their prices are fair.
call gorrilla and they will charge $468 for a custom length axle and $368 for a stock length axle.
Ive also toy with the idea of building my own, something a lot like Adam mentioned using a Toyota axle and cutting new splines on it for whatever bike im building at the time. The problem I'm running into is finding a machinist to cut the splines.

I haven't seen a hummvee axle but if I was a guessing man I would say it wouldn't fit in a honda front spindal. I know it has been done with a z71 axle but I think their was a lot of problems he had to over come. Headcutter knows a guy who used corvette axles in a popo 6x6.

If ya'll have heard of poorboy atv, then thats who Pond is talking about. Joel lives 30-40 minutes south of me and is a atv genious! He has a Ranger 6x6 with a 9ish" lift and maybe 4" wider than stock. He machined corvette cv's to fit his diff and spindles. They are at such a steep angle, that he had to notch the frame to clear the axle bars! Only problem he has is keeping boots on @ the angle. Not really a heat issue as much as boot is in a wad! I believe he is running them in the 45 range. Also claims he can rebuild one for like $40. Which I believe he has only broken one.

Cool deal, I knew they had tobe hand building them.  I have heard nothing but good things from them, but man that is steep, just doing the front.  I took another look at a hummvee axle this morning and determined that the ones over here arn't going to work but looking a book think the ones we keep state side have a real chance or at least the outside half.

Is anyone using turners stroker motors?

humvee axles really arn't if any different than a GM axle.  Just know where I can rob a scrap pile of them with busted boots!

a quick thought on a 140,000 mile yota axle
how many of those miles were spent at 30 degrees + on the cv?
I hve heard this argument alot, but my gorillas (im not plugging gorilla, to each thier own) run at 33+ every mile they turn
im not saying that the toyota setup isnt beefier, but thats not comparing apples to apples
add to the fact that the yota im sure is running a belted all terrain most likely, not a undersized tractor tire, there is some differences, im sure something better can be built, but just remember what turner and gorilla and others have spent time building

Good point Shane

14" wider on a 10" lift is way to wide. What degree are you running on your axles?

hey rabbit i think he may have the axle bars too long.
or the shocks were too soft causing the bars to hit the cups and break the splines off
