ok i got a 07 foreman 500 a few days ago it has a mud buster cam , epi clutches i think , jet kit , big bore, hmf pipe. its running 28'' backs . ok here is the question the guy i got it from told me i could do a gr with foreman 450 gears. so what i want to know is was he blowing smoke or what ? and with the mods do i need a gr
I would put a gr in it if I was you. As far as which gears to use I would have to double check. It's been awhile since iI researched it. You can pm jgmoody he would know
yea i just took apart a 450 the gear would be a 14% gr but the shaft is not the same . my small gear it missing teeth so it sounded real nasty . do you think the 28's are a lil t much ? this is my first 4x4 bike i always had sport bikes so i have alot of ?s
You really need to pm jgmoody about what gears to run on the 30%. There will be some machine work involved in a 30%. It will Turn 30"s pretty good if I was a guessing man
I will see if the 450 drive gear and clutch basket will work as a reduction I got a 500 motor open right now. I can tell you something Monday

A 30% reduction for a 450 u need a 300ex drive gear and 300ex clutch basket gear like pondhopper said alot of cutting and welding to make it work but I'm doing one for mine and with a custom Stroker and piston you Cam pull 32's

no I said diffs as in differentials... take the front and rear differentials out of the 400at....at means auto... and put them your 500... the diffs in a 350/400at rancher are geared lower. the 400at is the only old style rancher that has the electric 4wd button..
hey Brian its the same gears they use in 420 reduction if that helps...
Oh OK cool then if you want a front reduction then you have the drive gear cut off a 300 and tig to the 500 gear and take the clutch basket gear off a 300 and put on the 500 basket I hopes that help any you can do the rear reduction to with the front to get around a 30% reduction
