FS: Custom Honda "300", IRS +6, 350 foreman motor, etc, etc, etc

Well, as much as I enjoyed the build and love the bike, it's time for a change.

1996 Honda 300 - clear title in hand, vin #'s still on both locations of the frame. Bike was just recently transformed into a "monster". Various pictures of the finished bike and during the build can be found on my photobucket page here: https://s455.photobucket.com/albums/qq273/JPShawgo/wheeler/

- Full custom frame converted to IRS with +6" axles and arched a-arms, all done with DOM tubing. All new tie-rod ends & wheel bearings. New Rincon rear "cushion shocks" used at all 4 corners. Large "D" rings at both ends for strapping to, and a custom rear bumper built for wrapping up a strap. Eiger clear head-light housings with hyper-blue bulbs. All stock Honda plastics w/ stock fender flares. Aftermarket floor-boards. Just under 17" of ground clearance to the frame with the 27's; member of "the bucket club", lol.
- Engine is a 1986 350 foreman motor, all fresh. Wiseco 10.25:1 piston with fresh bore, Web "180" performance cam, DID timing chain, ported & polished head with new vesrah valves and fresh valve job, 35% gear reduction, EPI "economy" stall clutch kit w/ new clutch shoes, all new seals(valves, output shafts, etc), K&N filter, custom HMF style muffler w/ no packing to go bad. - Carb tuned to suit via wideband o2 sensor for proper tuning. Aftermarket oil cooler mounted up on the front rack. All the foreman electronics were used, thus the temp sender, wiring, and fan control are in place for an engine fan if wanted.
- Front & rear diffs as well as the transfer case all recieved fresh bearings & seals during the build. Front is shimmed up to be fully locked, but can be backed down for easier steering.
- Tires are 27x10 Vampires up front and 26x12.5 Swamp Pros out back, both on stock 12x7 "front" wheels. They have been stretched and measure 27" tall at 4psi. Fronts are partically new, rears are around 85%.  This bike will easily handle a 29.5 tire, which was what I had planned to put on it in the future.
- Stereo system consists of an Alpine "V12" amp, running in 3 channel mode pushing two Cadence marine 2-way component 6x9's and a single Kicker marine 12" subwoofer, all built into a custom fiberglass enclosure. Driven via any mp3 player in a handle-bar mounted pelican case. - It rocks out, to say the least.
  - Fully snorkeled. 2" flex hose(quality flex ducting hose, not just spa hose) ran to 3" riser. All vent lines ran to self draining canister which connects to riser(has drain on bottom with check valve).

I am in the process of getting some solid rear axle shafts made, as well as installing a custom disc brake set-up. - I have been working on a custom billet carrier for the rear differential to ensure reliability with larger tires. I'm willing to finish it for the right sale price; the re-inforced stock unit in it right now is fine for the current tires.

I'm looking for serious offers, but would like to get $5200 with the stereo or $4600 w/o. If I sell it w/o the stereo I will re-mount the oil cooler properly to the front rack.  - Any serious offer will be considered, I need to move this ASAP to work out another deal I have pending. This is a truely nice built, big lifted Honda with the power to pull real mud tires.

Located in the Ft. Myers FL area, could travel some to meet. My cell# is 239-two two nine-2732. I can be reached on the weekends or after 5pm easter by calling, or most any time via text.

Thanks for looking,

- Jp

$4500 complete with the stereo, $4k w/o - will sell either seperate. Really need to move this thing ASAP to make room in the garage for my new toys. Any reasonable offer considered.

Just got the new 4340 solid rear axle bars for it and I'm finishing up a disc brake on the driveline(pinion mounted). - This is a very stout bike and with the new rear axle bars should be very reliable. After the initial diff re-work the rear bars have been the only issue and these will eliminate that.

Thanks,
- Jp

Thanks pond, that means a lot coming from someone like you who knows what they're looking at.

- I'm taking this thing off the market. I managed to twist off another set of rear axles this weekend, thus it's time to bite the bullet and get some turners for the back. Time I do that I'll have too much invested to just let it go cheap for no real reason. I was gonna eliminate the payment on my HD, but no biggie. Paying it off with a 0% CC and then trading it for a nicely built 686 rhino and a 660 griz. Keeping this around should help keep me from getting too crazy with the griz, lol.

have you tried to weld your rear axles up and then put them in a bucket of oil will there still hot? it hardens the metal. i had hell getting a rear drive shaft to hold in my bike. i did this and haven't built a another one.

Yes, I've done oil quench as well as brine water(salt water blend) quench. Even gone as far as cooking them in a commercial oven afterwards to establish the proper rockwell hardness.

None of that really matters. The welds aren't failing, I'm wringing the shaft off(even split one into several pieces) up near the joint. - The stock front bar size just isn't enough to handle the steress in the back w/ this motor & gearing.
